Vaccine induced Asperger’s and Tourette’s syndrome (My Story)

By: Nicholas Massimino

Hi, my name is Nicholas Massimino. I am 18 years old and I currently live in Fairfield, California. I am one of lots of individuals who have been injured by vaccines. Getting vaccinated is not necessary to begin with. Here is my story:

I was born in December 1998 in Jackson, Mississippi. I was a sweet-hearted, easygoing and happy baby boy. I reached my milestones at the average age or earlier than that. Before my first birthday I received numerous vaccines and developed lots of ear infections. In addition I developed a horrible case of pneumonia at 12 months of age and was hospitalized for 2 days. I was saying single words by the time I was 13 months old. One day when I was 15 months old back in March 2000, I went to see the pediatrician and got 5 vaccines that same day (for DPT, Hib, Oral Polio, Chickenpox and yes the MMR). After that things were never the same.

The day after receiving those 5 vaccines I developed a sudden respiratory illness. I went back to the pediatrician’s office and the pediatrician thought I was okay. My mom believed the pediatrician because she believed vaccines are safe and effective. The worst part was I battled the illness for almost 2 months. Within that period of time I lost my ability to talk. I developed a sleep disorder; I couldn’t sleep for about a year. I became allergic to cat hair and my parents had to give our cat away. After battling the illness I became shy and withdrawn. I developed social anxiety as well. In addition I started exhibiting weird behaviors including lining up my toys. I quit making eye contact as well. Eleven months after receiving those 5 immunizations my mom decided it was time to go see a developmental specialist.

By March 2001 I was 2 years and 3 months old and my little sister was born. Shortly thereafter I gained my ability to speak again but I was never the same. Three months later I finally saw a developmental specialist who would be my developmental specialist up until I turned 15 years old. She didn’t diagnose me with anything yet but her theory was I had autism. By then I had developed tics as well. She also thought I could possibly have a tic disorder. From age 3 to age 7 I went through a nasty phase of anger outbursts, meltdowns, temper tantrums, sensory issues and random episodes of awkward behavior.

By the age of 5 my little sister had been copying my behavior and by that time we were already seeing a therapist. From the time I was 4 years old I was seeing a therapist to help me function in life. My sister saw the same therapist for 2 years because she had nothing wrong with her. My little brother was born in March 2004 and by the time he was 2 years old he was beginning to slowly exhibit weird behaviors as well. By the time I was 7 years old my anger issues had died down for a bit. I had become one of the smartest people in my class. The good thing was I had never taken any special education classes.

I was in normal classes in preschool and in elementary school. At age 7 I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (high functioning autism). I had many more tics than ever before (blinking every second, galloping in the house, etc.) and also when I was 7 years old I was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome. My developmental specialist prescribed me pills to take for these 2 neurological conditions that had numerous side effects that I didn’t want to have. I remained naïve about these 2 diagnoses for a while even though I was well aware of the medicines I took.

By age 9 my parents were going through a nasty divorce and my aunt who lives in Sacramento, California came to help out with getting my dad’s belongings out of my mom’s house. Surprisingly my aunt decided to tell me about my diagnoses because she believed I couldn’t remain naïve forever and had to know sooner. As a result my mom got extremely mad at my aunt for telling me. I actually knew before my diagnoses that there was something wrong with me because everyone in my class laughed at me for my awkward behavior and I was well aware of my awkwardness as well. I recognized my tics for a while at that point and knew something was different about me from everyone else. Meanwhile my little brother had been actually undergoing episodes of hyperactivity and my aunt began to wonder about my brother.

By age 11 I told a lot of my friends about my 2 neurological conditions and as a result I lost friends. I was being bullied in school like never before. My tic disorder had worsened. I had been jerking my body parts really hard and it was too obvious at that point. Meanwhile my brother was in grade school and his teacher was worried about him as well. In the summer of 2010 he was finally diagnosed with ADHD. After his diagnosis he was given pills to take by his developmental specialist as well with horrible side effects that he didn’t want to have either. The school my brother attended at that time forced my mom to make my brother repeat Kindergarten. My mom wouldn’t buy it so she sent my brother too private school.

By age 12 I was being bullied by my teachers and I was threatened with special education. That only made things worse. One of my teachers had told me that vaccines could have caused my 2 disorders. I believed her but I told my mom and she did not believe my teacher. By this time my mom had been working as a surgical technician at a hospital in Jackson, Mississippi. She believed vaccines do not cause autism. Of course I was growing up in a very religious household and my mom believed my 2 disorders and my brother’s ADHD was a gift from God. I thought my teacher had fooled me. My mom decided to put my sister and I in the same private school as my little brother so we wouldn’t have to deal with public school for a while. In the summer of 2011 my mom remarried and still is happy with her current marriage as of this day.

In 2014 I was 15 years old and my stepdad had to transfer his job out of state. We moved to Fairfield, California so my stepdad could work at Travis Air Force Base. After that I started getting bullied again. By the spring semester of 2016 I was still a junior in high school and I was undergoing depression and major anxiety episodes. For comfort, I would listen to music on nights I should have been doing my homework. Then during that same semester I was taking a final exam for my last period science class and something popped up in my head. It was a time back in 6th grade back when my teacher had told me that vaccines cause autism and many other neurological issues. I went home for the summer that day with that memory racing through my brain.

That summer I spent lots of time researching the link between vaccines and autism. I found out about Dr. Andy Wakefield having his medical license taken away from him back in 2011. I did more research and found out stories of kids just “coincidentally” developing autism after their MMR shots. I found out about babies dying of SIDS after their Hepatitis B shots. What puzzled me is that Hepatitis B is an STD and a baby would have no way of contracting a disease like that. The list of adverse reactions goes on and on and thinking about it makes me want to cry. In the fall of 2016 I spent time arguing with my mom on the vaccine controversy topic and she still believes to this day that vaccines are safe and effective. I beg to differ strongly.

In my senior year of high school my little brother went to see a functional medicine doctor for his ADHD. He prescribed my brother supplements to calm his ADHD down. The functional medicine doctor put my brother on gluten free, dairy free and sugar free diets as well. It worked: his grades went from being D’s and F’s to his lowest grade being a C+. In addition, he stopped pacing. My mom sent me to the functional medicine doctor as well. The doctor prescribed me supplements as well. Yes I am also on the same diet as my little brother as well. I admit I feel a whole lot better now and believe it was some of those 5 vaccines I got at 15 months old that caused my disorders.

I graduated from high school in June 2017 and I will be attending community college in August 2017.

I recently found out about Larry Cook’s YouTube Channel and watched lots of his videos. I agree that my Hib vaccine caused my sleep disorder. I watched a video where a woman named Brittney Kara explained how one of her daughters developed a sleep disorder after the same shot.

I know the MMR vaccine damaged me. Of course the MMR causes Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I experienced IBS quite often before the supplements. I believe the Chickenpox shot affected me too. I looked up adverse reactions to the vaccine on the CDC website and found out that lengthy respiratory illness is one of the many adverse reactions reported with the Chickenpox shot.

I am not only a fan of Larry Cook’s YouTube Channel but Brittney Kara’s YouTube channel as well. I like what Brittney does as well as Larry. They both expose the truth about the pharmaceutical companies.

I not only started to feel better after taking the supplements but I feel like the personality I used to have before the vaccine induced disorders is slowly making a comeback. My social anxiety and fear of seeing people I know in public has slowly begun to disappear.

I would like to spread the message about the consequences about vaccines. I will do anything to oppose mandatory vaccinations because now I live in California (a state where they kick you out of school if you’re not up to date on your immunizations). It is sad to watch the right to choose whether or not you should be vaccinated be taken away from you. The truth is vaccines are not for public health. They are only for profit because the pharmaceutical companies are greedy and want your money.

I strongly disagree with mandatory vaccinations because vaccines have consequences to them and I do not want to see people injured by them because I was injured by vaccines. I do not want anyone else in this world to become injured by a vaccine ever again. It breaks my heart so much.
